Nio Applied Lab
Where we work on the hard problems between a drawing and a finished part — geometry reasoning, process physics, and the cost of making something real.
Drawing & geometry interpretation
Reading 2D drawings and 3D geometry the way an experienced engineer does — dimensions, tolerances, GD&T callouts, and the intent behind them — without a human correcting the output first.
Process physics modelling
Encoding what actually happens at the machine: bend allowance and springback, kerf behaviour across gas types, tool access, and the limits a specific machine and tooling set impose on a design.
Cost and manufacturability reasoning
Turning geometry into a defensible cost and a manufacturability verdict — process-by-process, with the drivers surfaced so an engineer can see why a number came out the way it did.
Sustainability and compliance
Quantifying material yield, process energy, and regulatory exposure — RoHS and REACH among them — so sustainability is a design-time input rather than a downstream audit.
Working on the same problems?
We collaborate with universities, institutes, and industry consortia on applied manufacturing research.
